The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has signed a title sponsorship agreement with Muthoot Fincorp for the next two home seasons of Indian cricket. The agreement was announced just days before India begins their home white-ball campaign against the West Indies, who will travel for three ODIs and five T20Is.

According to reports, the BCCI locked down the arrangement at a base price of INR 4.85 crore per match, noting that the higher floor price precluded more potential bidders from participating.

The white-ball matches begin on Sunday, September 27, with the opening ODI at Thiruvananthapuram’s Greenfield International Stadium. The second and third ODIs are on September 30 and October 3, respectively, while the T20I leg runs from October 6 to October 17.

Shubman Gill leads the ODI side in this series, with KL Rahul serving as his deputy. Shreyas Iyer has been named captain of the T20I team, with Tilak Varma serving as vice captain.

Which India regulars are absent from the ODI team, and why?

Four established players — Shreyas Iyer, Ishan Kishan, Axar Patel, and Jasprit Bumrah — were left out of the ODI squad due to commitments to the Asian Games. Their absence has allowed several players to assert their claims at the international level.

Auqib Nabi and Naman Dhir are the two new additions to the 15-member group. Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli return to add experience, while Ravindra Jadeja rejoins the ODI squad. Ruturaj Gaikwad, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Dhruv Jurel have also been selected. Notably, Rishabh Pant has been left out of both white-ball teams in this series.

Who will captain India in the Twenty20 International series against the West Indies?

Shreyas Iyer leads the T20I side for this series, with Tilak Varma serving as his deputy. The T20I squad differs significantly from the ODI squad, featuring Abhishek Sharma, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, Ishan Kishan, Sanju Samson, Shivam Dube, Washington Sundar, Ravi Bishnoi, Arshdeep Singh, Prince Yadav, and Mayank Yadav. Notably, Axar Patel is included in the T20I team despite his absence from the ODIs. Nitish Kumar Reddy and Kuldeep Yadav are the only two players that appear in both teams for this tour.
